The Company & Opportunity
Our established manufacturing operation in Westbury is currently hiring production operatives to start work on a full time, permanent salaried contract.
Our specialist manufacturing division designs and produces bespoke protective packaging solutions which are designed exclusively for customers in safeguarding their products in transit. Customers span several key sectors including: Aerospace, Defense, Electronics, Industrial and Medical.
The Role & Responsibilities
Joining our busy production department, you will find yourself working within a small team environment, using a range of hand-held tools, conversion machinery and/or undertaking specific assembly duties. Each of our manufacturing areas work to produce bespoke packaging components in line with customer orders and specification, so your core tasks and responsibilities will vary, but are likely to include the following:
- Adhering to all Health and Safety instructions and guidelines
- Adhering to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 processes
- After training, using and maintaining a range of machines and tools to convert corrugate, timber and foam products
- Taking responsibility for jobs from start-to-finish, effectively completing projects in line with customer order specifications, quality guidelines and planned production times
- Effectively interpret technical drawings to derive best method of manufacturing assembly
- To ensure all job instructions are followed safely and accurately in order to meet the required quality and output levels
- Completing all relevant documentation accurately and promptly
- Communicate effectively with Line Managers and colleagues
- Have an input into 5s, Foreign Object Detection and Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes suggesting improvements
We welcome your application if you are an experienced production operative who is used to working within a busy semi-skilled manufacturing environment. You will ideally be familiar with using a range of associated hand-tools and machinery, whilst upholding health, safety and quality standards.
The ability to read/interpret technical drawings would be useful as would experience of working to tight deadlines.
You will ideally reside within a reasonable daily commute to our Westbury site and have a positive attitude and flexible approach to work including overtime as required.
