We, the UK’s leading packaging distributor have an exciting full-time role for someone to join our business in a payroll support capacity. We are a committed equal opportunities employer that champions dignity in the workplace. Our focus is to provide customers with fully integrated and innovative packaging solutions, augmented by outstanding customer service.

The Payroll Administrator Role
This is a new opportunity, created largely due to growth and expansion, and forms part of the HR function. Working closely with the existing Payroll Co-ordinator, you will support the processing of a monthly pay cycle for approximately 800 employees. Whilst payroll is administered through an external provider (currently ADP), most of the processing is managed in-house.

Payroll Administrator duties & responsibilities
Reporting to the HR Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Collation of monthly payroll data within required timeframes and authorisation guidelines
  • Data entry and system maintenance
  • Reconciliation of costings

  • Supporting the transfer of payroll for acquired businesses
  • Working closely with the external provider
  • Auditing procedures
  • Dealing with queries from managers and employees
  • Supporting annual budget processes
  • Supporting statutory leave requirements
  • Supporting tax year end processes
  • Supporting ad-hoc payroll projects
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Ensuring legal compliance
  • Keeping up to date with payroll legislation
  • Involvement in auto-enrolment processes
Do you have the correct profile?
We are seeking an experienced payroll administrator, who has previously worked with a multi-site payroll (this is essential). An understanding of the basic principles of tax and insurance are also a must. You will also be a confident communicator who is able to speak to stakeholders effectively. This role sits within our HR department and the successful candidate will also provide ad-hoc HR administrative support during the week. You will therefore have strong organisational/prioritisation skills, with the ability to work within strict timeframes and a keen eye for detail. Finally, you will be competent in Microsoft Office, particularly in using excel spreadsheets. You will either be seeking a full-time appointment or to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
