Logistics Supervisor role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our business. We welcome applications from motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are genuinely customer focused, team-players with good interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a flexible approach and strong work ethic. Our warehouse team work 45 hours a week across Monday to Friday. You will be working as an integral part of our regional logistics team, taking a hands-on approach to carrying out key duties whilst leading by example and supervising warehouse staff and drivers (plus occasional agency staff).
Logistics Supervisor Key Duties
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, key duties and responsibilities of the role include:
Do you have the correct profile?
Firstly, you must be an experienced logistics supervisor with a minimum of 1-2 years spent managing/supervising warehouse and driving staff within a fast-paced distribution environment and having excellent computer skills. You will have a stable employment track-record and have a solid grasp of tachograph regulation and EU driver hour’s legislation. You must also hold valid forklift (counterbalance) licence/Pivot Steer licence. You will be expected to act as a first-aider at work (training can be provided as with route-planning, Health & Safety etc.). It is imperative that you have a strong work-ethic with a flexible ‘can do’ attitude. Also crucial is a strong customer-focus with the ability to interact positively with our customers. First and foremost you will be an able and dependable warehouse operative in your own right, not afraid to get your hands dirty, but also able to lead by example and motivate others to do a good job.

Logistics Supervisor Key Duties

- Receive, inspect and unload supplier deliveries
- Pick, load and dispatch goods
- Receive and process customer/supplier returns
- Dealing direct with customers both in person & via telephone, ensuring high standards of customer service at all times.
- Maintain company standards in line with O-licence & Health & Safety procedure
- Cost effective scheduling of deliveries to customers via Company vehicles or outside carriers to achieve a 24/48 hour delivery service (including route planning via use of Paragon software)
- Ensuring paperwork is processed onto the system accurately and timely
- Stock-taking and PI
- Giving instruction to via delegation and supervising performance of warehouse colleagues to ensure tasks are completed effectively and within timescales required
