(Depending on age in line with national minimum wage) plus company benefits

The Company 
We, the UK’s largest packaging distributor have an exciting entry-level role for someone to join our business and pursue a career in logistics. We are seeking to complement our existing team based in Bristol with the appointment of an apprentice Warehouse Operative. The Role 
Becoming an integral part of our local logistics team, you will play a key role in ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Undertaking a range of warehouse related duties including forklift driving and encompassing both goods ‘in’ and ‘out’, you will be expected to maintain close working ties with all areas of the site including the sales and purchasing teams. You will join us on an apprenticeship contract, studying to obtain a relevant qualification, whereby full ‘on the job’ training and mentoring shall be provided. It is our intention that if all goes to plan and both parties are satisfied, the successful completion of apprenticeship period should result in the offer of a permanent contract of employment.  
 

Key Duties  
  • Accept deliveries from suppliers, ensuring goods are stored in the appropriate location.
  • Pick, load and despatch goods to the customer base in a timely manner
  • Receive and process customer or supplier returns
  • Participate in stock counts, when necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service at all times to suppliers and customers.
  • Work in partnership with the Sales office to ensure customer delivery dates/times are achieved.
  • Work in a constructive manner and promote co-operation between departments and RDCs across the group.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Work within the Company’s ISO9001 and ISO14001 policies.
 
Do you have the correct profile? 
We welcome your application if you are seeking an opportunity to join a large corporate business that can provide a structured career path and training. It would also help if a career within logistics is something that may interest you. Prior experience of warehouse/stores or logistics work (whilst a bonus) is not necessarily required. We do however ask that you have a flexible and positive work attitude with good health & safety awareness and willingness to work as part of a team. With being an apprenticeship contract, you must be happy to commit to a 12-month (approx.) learning plan. Applicants will either have GCSE grades Maths & English A-C level, or in the absence of this, a willingness to sit a functional-skills exam in order to gain level 2 qualification in the missing subject(s)
