The Company
We, the UK’s largest packaging distributor have an exciting opportunity for an experienced packaging sales professional to come and manage our key regional customer base.
We are a committed equal opportunities employer that champions ‘dignity in the workplace.’ Our focus is to provide customers with fully integrated and innovative packaging solutions, augmented by outstanding customer service. Appointing and nurturing sales talent across our business is key to our continued growth.

The Key Account Manager role
Due to our continued growth, we are now seeking to appoint an experienced Key Account Manager to take charge of a multimillion sales portfolio. The role will predominantly focus on some of our top-tier (circa 40) customers within the region (incorporating well-known names within the e-com/retail space) which generates combined annual revenues exceeding £10M. Reporting to the regional leadership, you will be working out of our site in Nottingham but will travel daily across the wider Nottingham area to conduct customer meetings.

Following an extensive induction program, you will be steadily introduced to each of these customers, in time assuming more responsibility and involvement with each as you seek to protect & grow these key relationships. Your success shall also be measured against customer retention, account growth and gross profit targets which will require you to proactively identify & capitalise on all opportunities to increase sales/profitability by utilising a solution led sales approach.

Key Account Manager Key Duties
Working closely with senior management to gain introduction to key customers, then gradually assuming more ownership for these over time
Manage the assigned Accounts to ensure that the Regional Sales and Profit Targets are achieved and exceeded
Be the main point of contact for Key Accounts, with emphasis on the building of relationships throughout the organization
Play a pivotal role in the management and ongoing development of National Accounts where appropriate
Work in a constructive manner with your key internal colleagues across internal sales, logistics & procurement
Develop, analyze, and present relevant data including key deliverables

Do you have the correct profile?
Firstly, we are really seeking applications on this occasion from packaging sector sales professionals. An understanding and knowledge of packaging sales is important given the level of responsibility attached to this role. Some prior experience of selling corrugated packaging would be advantageous, but training can be provided to the right candidate.

In terms of synergy, we would also ideally like the successful applicant to have had prior responsibility for a comparable size customer portfolio and so an ability to demonstrate success in managing such a significant customer base. Experience of managing customers within the e-com/retail space would also be favorable as this is where many of our customers sit.

Our need is for someone to be based ‘on patch’ so to apply for this position you must live within Nottingham or the immediately surrounding area (including Leicester, Derby).

You will also be accustomed to using a solution sales approach whereby customer needs are central to the entire process. Presentable, polished, intelligent, and articulate, you will be commercially aware, goal orientated and self-driven.

We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds irrespective of your age, gender, disability, race, nationality, ethnicity, gender identity, religion, or sexual orientation. Should you require any specific support or adjustments during the recruitment process, please email our recruitment team directly.
